Different software uses different encryption methods.
Actually which you use does not matter, as someone with access to your files can get the PHP code of reading and writng passwords. At that time all you need is an online decrypter, or to add an echo statement to the password reading code.
If you have the database and the login PHP file, its pretty simple to decode a password without knowing more than how to search in Google.
