That happened with me when i was giving my first ever Cadet exam for ARPD.
I made it....but the passenger ([Rstar]Ber) died...NEWS:ARPD Chief dies in a parking lot.

As for drive-by itself, it is possible on cars (not helis, you'd get blade-raped) through artificial code. However, the script would become lagtastic from constantly gluing you and you wouldn't be able to re-enter as a passenger without stopping to get in, so this idea isn't practical possibly until 0.4.
