As you may have noticed here and there, Argonath RPG is celebrating its 5th birthday today.
When we started out 5 years ago, nobody could have even dreamt that today we would be such a large and active community, with servers for 8 different games, a sister community, more than 10.000 members (of which over 500 active) and we are classified as "large forum" based on our post and member count.
Argonath RPG is still a growing community, and while not many members have reached 5 years of active presence, others have replaced and found the togetherness of the community. Some people say that through internet you can not have real friendship and everything should be considered as false. Those people have been influenced by their parents or teachers, who grew up without internet, and can not understand the modern times. While we do not know each other in person, and as old people we do believe it is good not to reveal personal information to relative strangers, this does not mean that we are fake in our personality.
Through Argonath RPG people have formed (and broken) friendships, and there are even rumours of some relationships being formed through meeting, even if nobody on the internet is a woman according to some.
We have seen our players grow, some going from good to bad others bad to good, and some showing their good side after going through a rough time.
In the 5 years a lot has changed, but what has remained is our basic philosophy. To be a community that is open for all who wish to contribute in a postitive way. While we do hold you responsible for what you say, we rarely intervene in discussions or lock topics should the discussion go beyond the original post.
Finally, we are proud to have all of you here. We are investing monthly some money, and some may say it is useless to spend money without getting anything (evil hint to those wanting virtual things for donations). However what we get back is the fun of providing a place for people from all over the world to meet, have fun and exchange thoughts.
