Just some ugly hacker draws attention to himself.  Anyway, I do not care for my facebook profile because I have phone and Skype.

I hope facebook gets hacked or w/e soon. I really hate when people do not call to wish a friend happy birthday prefering to post on FB wall. That sucks so bad. Also, some dumbs using FB to be in relationship.

I dont think Facebook in a setting such as Highschool is a good thing. But when you graduate and everyone goes off to University in the US and Canada, its great to have a system like Facebook where you can keep in touch. My parents always talk about how they lost touch with many of their Highschool friends and Facebook allows our generations to prevent that from happening. But your right, peple who use it to talk with people they live 5 minutes away from is kinda dumb.

More than a social network where you meet people "for fun" it also has become a professional network. I use it, daily, to keep in touch with old coworkers and to meet new partners as well as sharing (new) ideas.
Though, I'm more a fan of linkdin, facebook also does the job. :)~

Oh, and remember when there was a message being spread that we would had to pay to use facebook? Same laughter for this "end of facebook". ;)

"To lure" has many meanings. You're trying to say that the tactics in advertising haven't changed?
Really?

In what way have they?
They are just able to filter which ads you see, the ads themselves have not changed.

FACEBOOK MUST DIE!

The fact that facebook knows all your information is true, when you register you give them all your information, when you upload pictures they know what you look like. Think of it this way: You give them your email address, your postcode (Which can be used to find your house), your date of birth your sex and then when you get into facebook you upload pictures of yourself which allows them to know where you live, how old you are and know what you look like, pushing de-activate button on your facebook is useless as said, all of the things on your facebook are already saved.

I have facebook but I'm a no-life so I havnt even uploaded a pictures of myself, and I havnt been on my facebook since like 2008, but it's also the same for google and youtube, you give them everything about you, they could  knock on your door and murder you for no reason tomorrow if they wanted to because they know that much about you. I never EVER give my correct postcode out to any website for example, the only people that have my postcode is my bank, school I used to go to and all courses I'm currently on, you can say it's just being stupid if you want to, but maybe I just don't want a company full of people I don't know sh*t about knowing everything about me. :)

If I remember correct you gave Facebook your info? Of course you did

Any internet related service already has your IP and that's enough to get all the information you listed above :)

Most website do keep logs of daily visitors as mine does but before it would keep logs of your IP, Operating System, Screen Resolution, Browser, Country,What pages you visited and how many times, which url brought you to my site and that's just by visiting the site, fucked up eh?

omfg argonathrpg must die because your ip and everything you do is logged and they can backtrace your ip and get all ur info omfgggggggggggggggg

omgggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg kill!! :alert" :alert" :alert" :alert" :alert" :alert" :alert" :alert" :alert" :alert" :alert"

Only thing I have on FB is a video a picture what school I go to and which city I live in, If they do sell that I would just lol and say  "I'm glad you wasted your time to sell my info you must really care, sex?" haha

To Anonymous, Good luck

Anonymous, if what you speak of is true, then I do wish you luck. You have a good reason to follow your cause if users are being abused like this.

As for them succeeding, I see it as totally possible. No one thought MySpace could die when it became the biggest internet sensation since Google, but look what happened to them. They were worth billions before News Corp. bought them out, and they were just recently sold for a mere few million, with a good 99% of their users either leaving or permanently "AFK'ing". Regardless of whether Anonymous succeeds or not, FaceBook will one day fall, just as everything in the world eventually does. Nothing lasts forever. It's just a matter of how and when. Yahoo! and AOL are also good examples of this. They used to dominate the internet until Google and high speed internet services came along. Everything must end at some point.

I have a Facebook account and still meet up and socialize with my friends on a regular basis, so I frankly have no idea what you're talking about what so ever.

As was the case with MySpace during it's peak period, many people like to sit and basically make social networking their life, sending messages, comments, and pictures to each other for hours on end, only to become more separated from society outside of their own home. That's basically what Rami was making his statement against.

Well then, them people are idiots. Unless however they are hoping to achieve complete social seclusion, in which case congratulations to them.

Agreed. It got so bad when I was in High School during MySpace's peak that teachers would allow kids to use the classroom computers to go on MySpace if they finished their work before class was over, so they actually bribed the kids to get their stuff done!

Even worse, I was the school's main tech since besides the computer teacher who was a Mac guy, there was no one else qualified in the school to work on any of the computers, so I handled the PC's. Because of this, I had my fair share of dealing with dumb "MySpacers" getting hacked because they'd save their login info in the browser, or leave their pictures on the computers, not to mention the dozens of viruses they would infect the computers with by clicking on fake ads and apps. It was a nightmare to say the least...

How is that bad? Just generic data that helps webmasters understand where their visitors are coming from, what screen resolution their site should be adjusted to, perhaps what languages they should consider translating their site to..
