really I should add to topic title 'READ THE FIRST POST BEFORE POSTING'

my friend...when you enter a car, it says: CAR OWNER, CAR NAME, AS WELL AS SCRIPT-GENERATED LICENSE PLATE (NO ITS NOT VISUAL, ITS SCRIPTED TEXT ONLY)
I want to change the generated license plate name (NO NOT VISUAL) to my custom text (NO NOT VISUAL)

It really helps if you explain that in your first post then.

Always thought it'd be awesome if you could visually change the plate of your car. Not possible in GTA: VC without a mod, sadly.

The car's plate on info would be cool if customisable, provided people wanted it a lot. Maybe put things like Cam's Place to use.

I'm speaking about the visual mod for it. SA:MP has the same thing for RP servers that wish to display custom or server-set license plates. That's why I told him to suggest it over there if he wants it added to VC:MP too.

Well, San Andreas SP already has in-built support for custom license plates (Sweet's license plate is GROVE4L, and there's a mission where a bomb-rigged car has the plate TIMEB0MB). Hacking away at the VC engine to add that would be significantly harder by comparison, and may destabilize the engine resulting in more crashes.

I know, but I don't think VCMP team is interested in adding things that aren't orginally in VC. Although last time I spoke to Max he told me he's interested in adding more support for RP servers in 0.4, so I think he might think about that feature

@Storm: Those plates are still based on textures though. Sweet's texture was just a special one. What SA:MP did was overlay a white rectangle over the license plate, which characters could be "printed" on top of. VC:MP could accomplish this easily too.

SA:MP has a lot of customisable options in itself. And things like car tuning were built in.

I think it's a keysmith/locksmith business actually. :P
A handful of people wanted it to be scripted as a pay & spray/some kind of car garage.
