FPS lag [Help]

Hello everyone,
you may or may not know about me. I am new to Vice city multiplayer and i seem to have an "FPS" lag as a player called "Unleashed" has told me in game.

Now my question is : How do i fix/get rid of my FPS lag?
All answers will be very helpfull and very apprectiated. I want to be able to play the game without any lag.

Information that you may need to know :
I play on a Dell vostro A860 Laptop,
I play on a 800x600x32 resouloution but have started playing on a 2024x768x16 resouloution [forgive me for my bad spelling]
My OS is windows vista
If any other information is needed , please dont hesitate to ask me.

Would be helpful if you had posted basic system specs (CPU model/speed, RAM, graphics).

Also anything running in the background? Steam/instant messaging/anti virus software?

Intel Celeron CPU,
560 @ 2.13GHz
Ram : 1Gig
32 Bit Operating system
Windows vista SP2
And when i lag my FPS is around 3-10.

You still didn't mention what graphics chip you got, which plays the biggest part here.

Also what anti virus have you got?

If you have installed some mods it would have negative effect against the FPS. Try to download GameBooster. It worked for me to increase the FPS lagg.
