This is not really a new idea as such, but something to work around a problem that was found when beta testing the upcoming server.

Deliveries to certain businesses have proven to be difficult, especially where the truck can't squeeze through the doorway or when the driver can't find exactly where to drop off the goods. :P

One idea might be to make use of loading/delivery bays, particularly in more concise parts of the city, and for the shopping malls.
Just taking North Point Mall as an example:

(Woops, left my HUD active)
The above two could be possible locations for truck drivers to stop and unload.
They could type in a command similar to /c deliver <name of business> if it's a shared bay.

A similar system could be made use of along certain streets that are known to house more than one business. Or nearby car parks/open spaces could also be made use of.
Some sort of blip/pick up might act as a marker + could provide info on what all businesses share that particular bay.

For less congested areas it would probably be best to have delivery points outside the door itself (without a pick up to mark it).

--> An idea that might work in future.

Imports currently come in from one source now, but it might open up some new business possibilities if companies could share or send stock from one place to another. Linked/partnered companies would be able to work together directly, and chain/branched businesses (such as some restaurants, Ammunation, Pay N Spray) could also make agreements.

A thought. ;)

Would be pain in the ass to try and get Flatbed (or such) to fit in NPM.. :D

I support this idea

the problem is incase someone's chasing a van and attacking it, the driver can just spamrape the command without much difficulty, i dont like that

I've seen that the vans were quite easy to destroy, and seemed to blow up quite quickly before.
There's a decent way between most businesses and the port, so maybe that can make up for it.

If required a offload time could be set, in which the vehicle has to stay within a certain area & wait for the goods to be offloaded?

People are not supposed to drive trucks inside a mall.

that's a good idea, you could call the cops to help you offload the stuff incase you think someone is looking forward to stealing it.
the time shouldn't be too high though, else assaulting the truck will be just too easy

and lol ave, good times

A shared delivery bay sounds good.
I guess, only NPM needs it?

Also, since admins have to setup Food Businesses.
Care should be taken that a truck can be driven to the requested business.
Else the owner will never be able to stock raw food.

I think a delivery bay for NPM will account for a few food places (Tarbrush, Pizza stores in NPM).

If there is any other place that has a lots of bizs which needs a delivery bay, remind me :)

to be honest we should just make all businesses (not talking about npm ones) radiuses twice large so we dont have to drive the damn truck into a shop.

another examples are the donut shop near havana PD, all ammunations, etc..

@ aXXo: Awesome. :)

Majority of the places in 1.93 are/were set from their doorsteps, or in some cases (for larger properties), set from a semi-central point with a large coverage area - radius.

Maybe for businesses we can just set them a little in front of the entrance, along the street with a suitable radius to avoid problems.

So...It was you who set all those props that I had to reset later

Radius shouldnt be too large, properties should not over lap with each other (Doesnt create any script complexity, but we dont want neighbors to fight for territories :D ).
