Some "RP Tips"

Hello.
I don't know where'd you guys get these, but presently I see too many pointless stuff in the local chat. Some people think the more /me, the higher quality role-play. I strongly disagree with this, IMO players should use animations as much as possible instead of /me. After all, it is 2012 man.

/me For Obvious Things
You don't have to use /me for the animated actions, in fact, it looks lame.
X /me enters the car - Well, we already can see that you are entering the car when you press F/ENTER, so its pretty pointless to emphasize it twice.
✔ /me spits on the floor - This is one is fine because there is no animation or anything else for spitting, /me is the only way to express this action.

San Fierro?
"/em S/F?" is a type of cancer. This method simply kills the role-play by limiting it to only two outcomes. I am not even going to give an example for this one. If you are going to do something you should just do it, the other side can react, block or co-operate with your action if they want to. Imagination is the key.



I respect the way others' play. Things I said in this thread is about MY opinion on RP, but I think most of you will agree.

/em Is for describing surroundings /me is for things you do.

Oh and another thing, please DO NOT scream in any chat "/gu".

First of all, forcing a person to use /gu to give up isn't allowed and second it's annoying.

I agree with all the points, specially the main one, It gets super annoying, thats not RP, Thats kind of srs RP. Why say something we can already see?

If somebody loves their car so much, why not say /me unlocks the door instead of /me opens the door.

Serious RP is when you dont go "HEY Guys! Would you like to buy some retardweed from Retards of Death MC? It's alot better then usual weed and gives you an amazing effect of being a retard!" Been there done that.

Serious RP is basicly when you dont just joke arround, act like you accualy would in real life.

Correction: Argonath RPG does not OBLIGE to use IC/OOC.
Using brackets is optional, using /me is optional, the way you use /em is optional. Don't want to use brackets? Nobody cares.
