I know two people who travelled there. It is indeed a very poor nation and most of the country is starving.
Be careful as to what you define as ''not enough food'' when speaking of North Korea. If you use the Western criteria (excessive food) for the North Koreas you'll be tricked into thinking they are all starving. That they do not eat as much as someone in the USA/Canada/Western Europe doesn't mean that they do not eat enough to have a healthy life...

Police disbanding rallies, people getting labelled as terrorists, people getting barred out in airports because of culture/religion - that is nothing that happens in the West?
Anti-government media? No potential at all - if it exists then it is because they're taking the position to make money or they are simply controlled by government itself.
Criticise someone's ways of making money to get labelled as a communist and an evil.
Countries like Chile who went against the West, and countries like Cuba who still go against the West? What about all the sanctions? What's up with the people in Africa, Asia and Latin America who suffer with consequences of Western politics every day - they don't exist?
Go against your business firm paying you low salary, against your health insurance company etc - you'll end up starving too. In the West.
