Right, I'm thinking about Earth, if you travelled at light speed on Earth you'd be obliterated to the back of your seat.
Doesn't matter at which velocity you travel. You won't get obliterated to the back seat because of the velocity. It's actually acceleration that does that. Force=mass*acceleration (F=ma). Otherwise you couldn't fly with planes and as Oliver also told earth moves 30km/s around the Sun. The Solar Sytem itself moves 300km/s and I am sure you don't feel that at all.

Quote
    The OPERA Collaboration, by continuing its campaign of verifications on the neutrino velocity measurement, has identified two issues that could significantly affect the reported result. The first one is linked to the oscillator used to produce the events time-stamps in between the GPS synchronizations. The second point is related to the connection of the optical fiber bringing the external GPS signal to the OPERA master clock.

    These two issues can modify the neutrino time of flight in opposite directions. While continuing our investigations, in order to unambiguously quantify the effect on the observed result, the Collaboration is looking forward to performing a new measurement of the neutrino velocity as soon as a new bunched beam will be available in 2012. An extensive report on the above mentioned verifications and results will be shortly made available to the scientific committees and agencies.
So to make that statement shorter: loose fiber optic cable and oscillator didn't work properly so can't say for sure if neutrino actually moves faster than the speed of light. Also that experiment was done by ICARUS team as well and they found that neutrino moves at the exact speed of light.

neutrinos arent that fast, they are fast by a ridiculously slow amount.

MY theory is that we simply mis-measured the speed limit...i mean seriously the universe doesnt understand miles, the unit can be a bit above the 671m miles..
Or maybe light isnt the limit?Maybe photons just travel at a speed very close to that of the ultimate limit?neutrinos go closer.
That is not simply the case of neutrinos getting closer limit of the ultimate speed simply because the speed of light is the ultimate speed because photons do not have a rest mass (meaning they don't have mass when put to rest, which is of course impossible by itself).

Aleks,

It would be awesome if Philadelphia experiment would have actually be true, but it is certified hoax as it has many contradictions and does not follow the laws of physics. Also still waiting what particle did Tesla found.

 :ps: Although I do say that there is a hypothetical particle out there called -tachyon, that does travel with greater velocity than light, but as said that is hypothetical and is not discovered by Tesla. On the subject of tachyons I might have to give a speech in Tallinn University net Tuesday.

And we do not try to be real life, as why would you ever play real life if you have one ? We play the GTA universe, and our players should try to live in the GTA world, not the real one.

@jubin-

mass is the amount of resistance/resistance of a particle to motion towards the higgs boron

And the laws of quantum science say that on the quantum level particles may freely pass through one another, so maybe it is simply that the photons have a tendacy to move through higgs boron with a 100% success rate?

Forgive me if i sound stupid, that theory comes from my head.

Actually no.
When a particle gets close to the speed of light its properties change, it gains infinite mass and the theory e=mc(squared) applied, newtonian motion rules do not apply.
So, if you go that fast you wont feelmuch actually, but if you look out the window you will see space adjusting in such a manner you will be mindf**ked bro.You will travel instantaneously since time will come to a halt, who knows when you step out you might step out on a new earth taken over by aliens!

Exactly, a particle does change it's properties, but since you'd be strapped in a seat in a vehicle, you'd be torn apart within seconds of reaching such speed, if one earth that is, because of the ridiculous amount of g force generate, the most g-force a human being has ever sustained was 42G for 1 second. anything over 50G is almost certain death. the LHC bring particles close to the speed of light, and that receives a g-force of 190,000,000 g

Nope. G-force is force applied because of acceleration not speed! So get to your speed by slowly accelerating and you are fine, doesn't matter to which speed even if it would be 0.9999c.

There is significantly less gravity and sudden acceleration on an asteroid than what we normally see on Earth (i.e: fast cars, jet planes). This means any microbes which can survive the extreme temperature inside an asteroid (either by being preserved by the asteroid or by using the asteroid's materials for energy, or through any other means) can travel across interstellar voids for untold amounts of time.

Not to mention, there is a probability as well that some of the Asteroid Belt objects originated in the hypothetical Oort Cloud (forces could have moved them towards the interior of the system, where they were trapped by Jupiter or the belt itself), which itself contains objects that could have originated from another stellar system.

In short, who knows what we could find inside those asteroids. :)

I hope we find a giant radar gun of a alien race that went extinct and hid its weapons in a asteroid before dying, and then have survivors of that race seek us out and destroy humanity!

Srsly, i am really hoping that we find some cool new metals up there.

@Jubin

Looks like i read about teslas particle beam weapon (an electron based weapon, easly said, a death ray), and probeably mixed it up with another particle. Posseably those neutrinos. Anyway, yup, i made a heck of a mistake.

Anyway, if youre interested in Tesla's particle beam weapon (death ray), go to this link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Particle_beam_weapon
and check it out. I myself know something about it, but dont wanna discrat from this.

Lol, too much SCI-FI movies.
Besides, if anything like that would happen (chances are, EXTREAMLY small), goverment idiots would use it for mass destruction.

We already have enough conspiracy theories about alien involvement with human technology. CDs, microchips, and fibre optics are all claimed to be back-engineered from alien tech by conspiracy theorists.

If the conspiracies are true, then I would suppose the governments are not moving technology along as fast as it should be, so as to give them more time to back-engineer and to not destabilize the economies that give them their income.

Think of what would happen if they released the super-efficient oil/gas/fossil fuel-free means of transportation to the public right now. It would end our oil dependency, but it would destabilize the fuel economy.
