Guys.. I really need your help:

I lag badly when I install any kind of software/games. The PC just starts working slow as f**k. I tried to defrag the harddrive with a program called "Defraggler" but still, the problem didn't solve. Any suggestions?

 :ps:
I ran the C-Cleaner also..

umm, well the details are quite odd.

You sure this happens ONLY when you try to install something?Try starting up some games and hd videos and see if it happens too.

If it doesnt, then try updating your version of microsoft installer.

Yes, ONLY when I install something. And no, it doesn't lag when I'm gaming, even tho when I run like 3 good ass games that take a lot of CPU I don't lag. The only thing why my PC lags is when I install any kind of game. Doesn't meter what quality it is. It's Mario or GTA IV, doesn't matter.

 :ps:
Sorry for not responding lately.

The Harddrive can only work at a certain speed.

Loading game files alongside installing would of course slow down the game

Test your HDD speed: http://www.attotech.com/products/product.php?sku=Disk_Benchmark

If you only have a single HDD, of course installing things will slow everything (that uses your HDD) down.

Is it just GTA San Andreas that's lagging? If so, you can use this to fix lagg:

http://www.gtagaming.com/downloads/gta-san-andreas/tools/8775

it's GTA San Andreas Memory Fix Stream. It gives you a less lag. Worked for me.

If you are here for doing random event stuff, I'd recommend a free roam server. We're not that anymore. We're a roleplay server.

Could you give us your computer's specifications? That might help in finding your issue.

From the looks of it, you have an HDD that's had quite some working time. HDDs simply wear out, that's something you can't stop and sadly can't fix. Defragmenting the HDD sometimes helps a bit, but at one point that doesn't fix anything at all. Something defragmenting a harddisk will even contribute to the wearing process of the HDD.

If I were you I'd get an SSD and install your operating system and stuff you want to use a lot on that. The HDD that you are using right now could still serve as a secondary disk, to store stuff and transfer stuff to your new HDD/SSD. Why an SSD? Because SSDs simply -are- a lot faster, and will replace the HDD in the future. Also, for some reason the HDD price has gone up a lot, while the SSD price is still the same, or cheaper than it was 5 months ago.

There were floods in Thailand which halted production/lowered production of standard Harddrives.

Although I think SSDs will only get cheaper for a while.
