He was in the parking lot, he surrendered without issues. His car was parked right by the door.

Correct. To expand on the police report a little further, that 71 number counts those killed too. Officially speaking, 12 are dead, 59 injured thus far.

Personally I have 2 friends that live in Colorado that were likely at this premiere, so now I'm a bit worried myself as I have not spoken to them yet. It was confirmed that some victims were military, which one of them were as well...

Edit: As I'm watching the news, an exclusive interview with one of those at the incident just, in tears, stated that his 6 year old daughter was killed, and that his ex-wife is hospitalized and he's not allowed to visit her...going on further to say that he has no one else left in his family. I just wanted to cry seeing this...

Kind of reminds me of that scene in Batman Begins where Scarecrow uses the fear toxin. The guy is obviously mentally ill... at least, I hope he is.

Considering I grew up in the USA and it's basically like my home, they should not be offended. Also  Denver is just a part of the USA, I was not referring to the United States as a whole.

I am truely still confused why he gave up.

He had full tactical gear, leg, groin, throat, tact helmet yet gave up like nothing ever happened. It does seem like he has another agenda, given the status of his house.

I'm glad to see that the police, and FBI are taking everything in full force. The FBI states 100 or more agents are present, including ATF. They have not yet entered the house fully due to a "sophisticated" trap. Being a PHD candidate I'm sure made his credible more liable saying "they may find explosives".

I've come to learn since my cat nap, that the 3 (or 4) month old is doing just fine; yet two 11 year olds, and one 12 year olds was among the dead and this pisses me off more than him killing a handful of adults. Since kids are truly innocent (most of the time) and hearing this, and the parents on TV breaking down is truly heartbreaking and nearly tear jerking to see.

In addition, great to see police are still able to follow protocol to the dot given the shock to many of them. While many seem angered given the circumstances that the bodies of the dead are still inside the cinema; sadly this is part of the procedure as the police will need a solid case to ensure this sick bastard gets the full extent of the law and the highest punishment possible for his insane crimes.

Update about his apartment:

The police think the devices and amount may be too much and too sophisticated to disarm, they are considering the options to detonate the explosives in-side the apartment using a remote controlled robot as the "safest" option.

I am disgusted by all of this, there is no reason for this to have taken place besides insanity.

The part that stands out to me is the last part which I have made bold.
I don't know but I have a feeling he may use the information learnt from that "class" as an excuse for "mental illness" or something along those lines as the reason for the shooting.
