As has been proven time and time again, killing someone because they have killed reaches very little effect except revenge to the family of the victims.
It hardly deters maniacs from doing what they want, as they consider their lives worthless already.
It does not stop people placed in a situation of extreme emotional response, as nobody thinks of the consequences at that moment.
It will not allow people to show remorse and make amends, as they do not get the chance.
So except people giving in to their animal nature of killing, it accomplishes nothing.

The point is that if he would have done the same in another country, he might have been called a fighter for liberty. Because it happened in Norway, he is portrayed as inhuman.
While you may rightfully feel that life in Norway does warrant such actions much less as life in another country, still it is remarkable that people will give different judgement on the same act depending on a situation.

Yeh, I guess literal life (till death) is worse than the lethal injection.. You get to suffer longer.
I say 'till death' because life in the UK is only 25 years, for those who don't know.. :roll:
