Ohhh reaaaallllyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

You do realise that Windows is the fault here with highest probability (not saying even that is high, but highest of all of them). Installing drivers again may f**k it up even more, due to older ones staying there. You'd need a whole different program to sweep out the old drivers (window's control panel removal does not remove them, nor does the driver installing program).

If Window's register is f**ked up, in a one big mess, no performance boost can fix it. It would ALWAYS lag. Also HDD being too full may slow it down, making the data processing slower. With that low amount of RAM, it would be recommended to reboot your system every now and then to refresh the RAM.

If you, SugarD, can give out better advise, go ahead.
1. I hope you realize that drivers always stay on the system regardless of how outdated they are. They are just disabled when a newer version is installed. That's why the rollback button works.

2. All the things you suggested would create consistent issues. His issue is not consistent aside from the position he is facing in-game. That means the computer is attempting to process something to display (or run) it and it is taking too long to do so. That is a CPU/GPU issue. Not Windows. Windows is simply an Operating System.

I wonder why I don't have any of my older drivers on my Windows

If you've updated them, click the rollback button. They are there.

There are no old drivers, because I use 3rd party software to remove them. Nvidias history with drivers drives me in to doing so, considering the pricetag in my GPU.

There is no reason aside from hard drive space to remove the old drivers from your system. Even then, the space saved is minimal at best, and affects the system in no way at all as they are disabled regardless.

Speaking from what you're told or from personal experience? I am talking from experience, and I strongly recommend removing old drivers due to the chance pf new and old overlapping and that would fuck you up.

Drivers don't ever overlap. Your page file should never overlap them either as it does not take old drivers into account once the new ones are activated and set to run upon computer start-up.

To answer your other question, yes, I am speaking from experience. Nearly 20 years of it, to be correct.

Overlapped drivers ever burnt YOUR GPU? Also, the problem indeed lies within processing data, and as it only occurs when looking in south, I'd go with problem of searching the data from your HDD. Lets take an example of CoD2. Most of the lag in mp_brecourt is due to your HDD not being able to forward the data further, therefore causing huge FPS drops (even my PC lags in that map, due to not having so good HDD for my CoD games.

Also, pointing a huge flaw in the way how you see things. NOTHING is certain with PCs so you CANNOT say drivers won't ever overlap with each others.

Drivers don't overlap because one is disabled before the other is enabled. If you are referring to conflicts, that would be evident by the Device Manager, but regardless it would not be an older and newer version of the driver doing such to one another. It'd have to be two separate devices conflicting.

As for HDD issues, that would be true if it weren't to a consistent angle in the game. He would be getting the issue in multiple places as it attempts to read data. GTA is split into separate areas for it's maps, so if he had been in one area causing the lag, then it would become apparent...but just looking a specific direction, regardless of the location, wouldn't continue to happen like that. Something else relating to the processing of the visual data or game environment is going wrong.

It is one thing if you have a horrible system and a powerful game, but even on most crappy systems, GTA:VC was well-ported, so it runs fine. In fact, it tends to be faster than GTA III on most systems out there. We're not talking about GTA IV on a PoS computer here.

What if the data in the south is on a broken sector (very unlikely that this kind of thing would happen, but it's possible) of the HDD?

Also, arguing with you seems like I'm talking to a brickwall, so let's just focus on the problem here.

Then being in an area of the map that is contained on a broken sector would cause that...not facing in that specific direction.

I tried all, defragging both partitions, downloading various fps increasing programs, but nothing worked. I'm probably going to fix my pc when I come back from vacation, but in case not, I'll just have to live with the lag. Thanks for your help anyways guys, see you soon..

Sorry for topic bump, but I have a question. It may also be a little off-topic, sorry. :/ I have a budget of 500 euros, can I get a good pc for that? Now I'm not talking about running Diablo III, but at least GTA 4 and stuff like that..

GTA 4 is "heavier" game than Diablo III...

Anyways, yeah you can, as long as you choose PC components yourself and don't buy any shit that store has to offer. I can help you with that, just hit me up in MSN at weekend.
