Please, do elaborate on how removing all money will improve roleplay.
Like Gandalf said, players avoid interaction / roleplay out of fear to lose their precious guns / money.

Are you implying that this topic is made for no reason? Constructive is in the title and it indeed aims to something better.

I can not influence how others roleplay, but you must remember that this is a roleplay server.
Money should just be removed since it obstructs roleplay heavily.

I'm implying you're not showing solutions, only talking about bad points. Read my previous posts. You cannot influence, or force, but you can co operate. Money should be removed? Then weapons as well. And Scripts. Only /l and /me. It makes no sense. Money is not the problem, the minds of the people are, from what you are saying. You're just taking the shortcut. Like I said, go in-game, talk with the people there. There are groups, clans, mafias, gangs, all of them embraced in role-play. This topic was made for a reason, but there's no reason to maintain this topic.

I talked about the constructive because of Chrome, by the way.

This topic has been made for no reason.

Why? It is about the fiftiest moaning-topic I've spotted in a few months. "Constructive Critism", such as you describe it, does not point the finger only to others but try to understand their mistakes aswell.

Why do you experience less roleplay situations?
Why do you feel that admins do not check reports? Have you rights to see what happens behind closed doors?

I heavily object that roleplaying is gone out of Argonath. I've experienced and tasted many sides of Argonath and lately I've been working on own ideas that worked out fantastic. Every day I play on Argonath is one full of roleplay, wether I look for it or not, it just happens.
If you do not experience the roleplay, do not speak like the server has no roleplay, look for flaws by yourself and be original.
Don't blame the server, I heavily object your opinion and I am quite sure many stand behind me aswell. Roleplay has only increased over the years.

Administrators, even if there is only one online, checks my reports. If they don't, I wait patiently and don't start moaning/flooding or whatever is commonly seen on the server. Make screenshots, warn the player about the rule he broke and let the administration deal with him further.
Even if he doesn't get punished right now doesn't mean he never will be.

Like Gandalf said, players avoid interaction / roleplay out of fear to lose their precious guns / money.

Then how about buying no precious guns? Why do you even need a gun to roleplay? You don't need it in many roleplay situations.

Argonath should be open to constructive criticism.

Well you should keep this in mind; you are playing in somebody else's server, somebody else's community. The Owners set their principles, vision and mission. I'm not saying Argonath is not open to any changes, but it is the Owners' right to allow or reject whatever they want. "Whatever" includes; constructive criticism topics, script ideas, new rules etc etc.
They are the ones who will make the last decision about radical changes, we can only respect their decision.

Imagine, you create a community and game servers based on your thoughts and imagination, and some certain people keeps moaning about your principles. They try to introduce new stuff that you don't like at all, they try to make big changes that are against your ideas. What'd you tell to them? I'd say: Love it or leave it.

This reply is not totally directed at you, this is to the people who always moan about the way Argonath is ruled.

Let's start with reports. Nobody is looking in most of the reports, they are being ignored, fact. Don't even try to deny this. Countless of times I had to report hackers, rammers, deathmatchers, did someone look into my report after 5 times? No. Now you may say it's due to the lack of admins. In that case RECRUIT new ones. Around 4 admins to overview over 100 players is madness. This is allowing rulebreakers to roam the server. One of the things obstructing roleplay. Also if there is concrete evidence of someone rulebreaking, punish him / her. Too many times I see someone writing, flaming in full caps and mis-using /ad, nothing happened.

The fact that admins do not answer a lot of reports is indeed true, but it is something that depends on players themselves. Speaking from own experience as admin in SA:MP (and I'm sure any current admin can back me up on this one), a big part of the reports come from people who have no interest in solving it themselves. Even in many cases the admin spectates reported player, doesn't see anything (for cases like shooting or ramming) and moves on to next report.

You got rammed by the player? Tell him to stop, tell him to f**k off. Or try teaching them if it's a newbie. Still getting rammed? Be a man and shoot them, do whatever comes to your mind to persuade them - it's just impossible that a regular/veteran is unable to intimidate a newbie who's uninterested in learning.

Now if there is a lot of people reporting players for minor shit and they don't wanna deal with it, and then moan to admins about them not responding it - it is also because the admins themselves are making them think they can overuse /report and later squeal...

Argonath SA:MP is still the same from 2008 - the difference you all seem to be complaining about is most likely the way people are manifestating themselves...

Tradition still goes on,
There is a hacker and no admin online? All the players, gather at Fort Baxter and fight the hacker! :D

Find the logs which prove these countless reports, then come back here and throw accusations.

As for the kicking part, often only moderators are available, and how do you know some people don't get punished?

warn, kick, tempban and ban are not the only punishments.

Also, when was the last time you came ingame?

And ran away from Pershing Square!
But back to the topic we go. JayL has a point. Everyone relies on the admins and expect them to do everything, if you want to help them deal with the rule breakers as long as you don't go against the server rules... of course if the guy shoots you, don't be afraid to shoot is arse!

Are you denying that most players only play for money?
It used to be different. If you call the current activity roleplay I want your opinion on roleplay in 2009 / 2010.

Well you should keep this in mind; you are playing in somebody else's server, somebody else's community. The Owners set their principles, vision and mission. I do agree on what is said here.
The thing is that it is told that players themselves should roleplay to get roleplay in the server.
I don't see that happening.

This topic has been made for no reason.

I'm talking about the obstructions.
Imagine that I want to roleplay and on the way I get suspected for assault.
I report the officer, nothing happens.

Also, who the hell is even talking about guns?

And me shooting the newbie will result into punishment, been there.

I would happily go in game and collect the logs if I could.
I was last in game around 15 days ago, I'm on a vacation.

Impossible, unless you decided to shoot AFTER reporting, else there's no way the admin would have his attention on the scene...

Why do you, and most of the veterans concentrate in 2008/09/10!? We're in bloody 2012, new players, new kinds of role-play, new administration team. Stop focusing on the past, and put your eyes in the present and judge without comparing it. If you miss that year so badly create a group, where you all sit in a room talking about how good it was. Seriously, a big part of the players play for the money, since they haven't been introduced to the role-play freedom. But I can tell you, that no player that's in Argonath for more than a month never role-played.
