Quite interesting now how this plays out and how alot of you seem to deviate from the path, Personally the notion that "No 1 should leave we figure out peace" is very ironc and dont say its a good idea, if that were ture why so much BS in the Balkans? not the same issues but as humanity has shown sometimes there inst a rhyme or reason, in fact gandalf up untill 90's You would have been mortal enemies and likewise just because our counties didnt see eye to eye and both sides could have trigger a war to end all wars.
Now there is a very big difference in culture and probably opinion, one you may find as well in this conflict.
Thing is people in Russia would never see Americans as mortal enemy. They may want their government to act different, but the people are not the government.
If you look at WW2, you will see that Russia lost a lot of people, more than any outher country. Yet there was never the hate for Germans that developed in the West. Did the Russians act against the Nazis? Sure and Russians them selves were no angels. But it would never turn in to a 'all Germans are evil'.
As you may know there are a very large number of Jews from Slavic origin in Israel. Their habits and character are not very far from what Russians know.
First of all they wil rarely make the first strike. They can be taunted and provoked, but if left in peace they will not bother others.
Second when they do strike, they hit back a lot harder as they were hit.
Third, even after the worst fight if you are alive the fight can be forgotten and you can be friends.
However there is of course a lot of Middle Eastern culture as well, a culture that by the way is not strange to Russians.
In Middle-Eastern culture the personal image and clan go before anything else. The importance is in looking good and protecting your personal image. This means that making an error is something which should not be done.
As a result, people will never admit a mistake and always point to somehting they are victim of. At the same time gaining possesion at the cost of others is not seen as bad, but as smart.
The Middle Eastern culture is not only found in the Arabs and Palestinians. It is certainly also found in many of the Jewish who originate from the area.
It may sound strange but there is no unity in Muslims or Jewish. Sure they will tell to be one and brothers to anyone attacking them, but at the same time there is a constant power struggle within.
This causes friction as when one group is ready to make peace, the other will try to disturb it. And it is impossible to solve this from the outside, it has to be solved within.
Peace for Palestinians is far away, as even within their small areas they are fighting between them selves. Having a 'large' enemy in the Israeli government is what they need to keep united, without that they would fall in civil war between their own groups.
Similar none of the Palestinians are welcome in Egypt or Jordan... other Arab tribes will not accept them.
