DDoS attacks can also involve regular people's PC. For example, a regular player of Argonath PC, his PC is infected with some kind of malware, that he is not aware of. However, the attacker has access to the player's PC and send DoS attack from there aswell, without the player being aware of it.

This is common among the incompetent part of the web. Such as downloading and installing crap they shouldn't however it is still a really large problem. Groups like Anonymous use "zombies" as they are called, in order to launch the Paypal and MasterCard DDOS attacks. They also incorporated followers manually launching the attacks, people who "supported' their cause to download a program to do it for them, as well as using networked computers to initiate the attacks. Gandalf can most likely tell more directly which type of attack by reviewing the evidences.

It is important for everyone to often run virus scans, ensure you are downloading things from trusted sources, and you aren't using insecure browsers (like IE). You should also make sure your virus scanner has ability to scan links live and prevent you from accessing malware and such.

If you want to provide ways to entice players to donate, then find ways that do not include exclusive content nor advantages ingame, nor conflicts with the Argonath Vision.

I donated 150 euro (which is a huge hit on my private economy, because swedens job market is absolute shit and unfair).

Okay, i wish to add my input on this whole thing.

Honestly, it does not seem like this DDoS is ever going to end. We heard a lot of times before that Argonath RPG owners have found the one responsible for the constant attacks on Argonath RPG and has charged him, however, even after countless of those claims, DDoS still keeps happening. Perhaps, we're looking into a wrong thing? Maybe it is not DDoS after all? Maybe there is some sort of a script fault, perhaps? If it is, we will find that out when RS5 comes out.

And about Gobbii.... I'm quite surprised he is not banned yet after such claims, shitting and moaning..
