Don't be a cunt and buy a scooter, as Aksel said, they're for fags.

Get a sporty 50cc such as an RS50, TZR 50 etc..

People who ride bikes have small helmets, therefore small heads and small brains in them. If they were to have a larger brain they'd have a car.
PS: If Peugeot bikes are like Peugeot cars then I wouldn't buy one new, get one used as they depreciate very quickly.

Trust me that isn't the best choice.. when we pass one of those 'bikes' we laugh at them (wannabe superbikes with slow gears and shitty sound), if you want a real bike wait until you are 18 and get a 600cc, otherwise just go for a scooter.

Get a real bike.
What 'real bike' can he drive at 16 in your opinion?

Any geared bike which is 50cc. Depending on what style you want:

 :: Yamaha DR50,
 :: Aprilia RS50,
:: CPI SX50 (My 1st bike. Faired well on the trails!)

Plenty to choose from; one just has to look. ;)

I'm also saving for a scooter, same as you: Not too expensive.

I'm already eyeing on a scooter which is sold alot in Holland called the ''Tomos'' They differ in prices from 500 Eur minimum for second handed to 1500 Eur for a brand new one.

For these scooters, you should NEVER buy them new at a dealer, because you almost always pay way too much then.

You should buy them second handed at a dealer or some random person on the internet.

The average Tomos looks something like this:

Now the second thing you should watch out for is the 2 kinds of scooters available (atleased in Holland)

Which is the ''bysiclepath, 25 KMPH, blue licenseplate'' one and the ''Regular road, 45 KMPH, yellow license plate'' one.

The blue plate will cost alot less, in either price and insurance.

I'm gonna look for a blue plate, cus in my city, it's way easier to go over cycle paths, than normal roads.

Unless you live in the country side and you have to travel great distances, then the yellow plate would suit you.

But, Doggz0r, I haz Q 4 u.

You say you're going to take your theoreticall exam soon. Which would not be enough in Holland, nowadays you also have to take a practicall exam, to get your license.

The theor. will cost around 50-70 Eur, but the prac. Exam around 200 Eur.. So watch out for that.. Though I do not know if those rules match the ones in Belgium.

G'luck mofo.

You don't buy a moped to drive in 45 KM/H, lol. And I am dissapointed in you Dutchy. You live in the netherlands and you don't want to fix your engine to go about 120 km/h?!

ITT: People think driving something that looks like a super-bike but will only do 45KM/H is better than a scooter. Get real.

Atleast those who drive scooters are concious about it, not like the faggots on these "super mopeds" who think they're the shit.

If you're going to drive something with the looks of a super bike, wait until you're 18 and can actualy get one.

@Aksel

Yes you do, you buy a moped to drive 45KM/H, it's the law. "LOLOLOL FUCKTHAPOLICE" Yeah, I'd like to see you say that when you get caught by the cops, get a fine and have your plates removed. Been there done that. Not worth it.

After I started driving a car I learned just how vurnerable bikes are in traffic, I was driving at night and I was at a cross, I didn't see the fucking thing until it was right infront of me and I had to slam on the breaks. Dont tempt fate.

Looool. I don't really care if I get stopped on my moped. It's life. You get stopped and plates get removed. No big deal really. All you need to do is pay the fine and get the plates back by putting on all the original parts again. :)

I never said you should buy THAT scooter, now did I?

If you get stopped you get stopped, as you said Aksel. But you can avoid a 800 euro fine, losing your plates and having to push it home or having someone come with a pickup and get it for you, which is a fucking hassle.

Because it brings you from A to B? And that is the point of a scooter?

I don't care how it LOOkS, or how FAST it goes, all I want is to save for a scooter with the money I WORKED for, without my parents buying it for me..

If you only buy a vehicle because it makes you look tough, or it makes you drive fast, you are doing it wrong!

In Italy it's 14 euro for the theoretical, 10 for practical if you study and practice alone :D
Or 600 euro with a Driving School

When upgrading license to drive other vehicles it's just 10 euro for practical exam

Speed doesn't matter on a moped.

Agreed, you have to admit, whatever you think, mopeds are Small Vehicles with a 'Farty' Engine, ie, sounds like you 'let out some air' on a plastic chair.

However, if I had a moped I would want a decent looking one, basically the opposite to the one dutchy wants. (No Offence)

You, sir, have got the wrong idea when it comes to transport... Save as much money you can as possible while attaining something that doesn't make you look stupid and like a freaking birk AND getthereamazinglyfast. Quite easily I could attain such a moped for 30 quid and make it go at 130 mph while attaining style... in the boot of my car, covered in something that would hide it from the rest of the world. I don't know how you could HONESTLY WANT TO ride this thing ANYWHERE where people are and considering it's a flipping moped you're going to drive to school.. good luck with that one.

As Pazienza says, you will be considered a complete and utter moron if you're seen by someone (who knows anything about bikes) in public, if you buy something like a Aprilia RS50.

All of the "made-to-go-fast" mopeds suck. Seriously, you are a hundred times cooler on a moped. The only one that looks remotely decent is the Aprilia RS50 (new one which you cannot afford with your budget), but I'm afraid the engine sounds pretty much like a wasp/fly (no matter what exhaust system you put on it).

Try going for something classical, maybe a 50cc Vespa?

Buy it second-hand (a quality scooter can easily keep going over 15,000km) and for the love of god, avoid any Chinese ones (which will 'explode' after 3,000km).

Who are you to judge his life?
Sometimes i get a hard time being assertive, I would rather react a little less nice to you, perhaps then you'll know what it's like to have people shitting on your life.

I expect a little more mature comments, Not meaning this offensive, but i've been trough alot in my life, seeing people judging other people's life is something i can't stand anymore.

Why even buy a moped with license plates? It's like driving a moped with a CCTV equipped.

I would rather have a normal bicycle than a moped who reaches the speed of 35 km/h.

But scooter is for fags. If you want to be fag you buy a scooter.

Doggi,

Since i can share my talk better in my own language, I'll continue in Dutch.

''I just do not know in which province you live, or how the state of the roads in your village, but if everything is normal, I recommend you go to a Yamaha scooter that its price / quality very good, and can take a beating. Whether you plan to get a license for your scooter is a choice I leave to you, but I'll give you a little push for them to go. You can buy a scooter that can go at higher speeds, so you, of course, are much faster on your location and bad weather, fewer out to stay.

If you have a garage, it aanbeloven your scooter at night to put inside, to prevent theft, your scooter, and not always in the freezing temperatures of winter should be.

Did you have any questions, no probs''

Google translate, love it, admire it, use it, have sexy time with it.

The Piaggio engine is an automatic injection motor, I don't see how that can be any better than the Minarelli...It might be the best engine if you are suppose to drive with an original vehicle, but if you are thinking about investing in a modified cylinder, exhaust or something I suggest the Minarelli.

Eh? A 50cc scooter is a moped... ignore the top of the wikipedia page you googled, and look at the requirements for something to be classed as one ;)
Though you might have already realised that, but I cba reading all the pages

Yeah, wait a year and get a better one...you'll only want a bigger one when you are 17 anyway. My dad has got a Piaggio Fly 100cc...its cute! Kind of embarrassing though

You wanna buy a original moped and turn it into what just -you- want and not some already tuned up moped. Original mopeds have less problems than already "tuned" ones or whatever you like to call it, believe me.
