Alright well, yesterday and today I have began to prop my laptop up about 3-4 inches off the ground with a few wine corks () and the temperature has been staying at around 60-65C, and I'm really surprised. In a bit I'm going to try the vacuum technique, hopefully it works!
Glue them stuck under it :) So they don't move while gaming :D

Btw, can you post a picture of the setup? I would love to see it..

Mine is a Compaq, most parts are by HP, I've had no problems with my laptop.

Isn't there something that you could turn it up higher?

Laptops should never overheat unless they are overclocked.

a company would never design a laptop that way.

the biggest players in the overheating could be-

 - Dust collection (easily cleaned out with a strong blower, or even a q-tip
 - in direct sunlight
 - overclocking
 - putting the laptop on soft surfaces, such as a bed, which can block the vents

overclocking symptoms are immediate shutdown, and a Blue screen is very rare.

games crashing, etc etc are not a result of overheating.
