Serious internet issue

Since a day or 2 my internet is VERY slow. It doesnt even reach 0.20 Mbps UPLOAD speed. I am on a laptop with wireless connection. We have an other computer on the wireless connection, and also a printer. The main computer is just on an internet cable, tho that computer is broken so i cant test the internet on it. We tried resetting the router for about 3-4 times, same for the modem. On both computers we have full connection, but it is really slow. If you need any information just ask..

Please, someone knows a solution to fix this?

Didnt do it yet, i wanted to try it here first.

I have no updates running

Download speed is 2.02Mbps

It lastes since about 2 weeks ago, then it stared to load pages slower etc, but since 2 days it is really slow..

Edit:

When i try to connect to internet some times, i get the message that the gateway is offline, we reset the router to get acces to it again.. So now i have internet again for about 30 minutes.

Give this a go:

Open up a command prompt. Start > accessories > Command Prompt

Type in:

Code: [Select]

ipconfig /release Then wait until you see that you are not connected to the internet.

Now type in

Code: [Select]

ipconfig /renew Wait until connected to the internet again. This should give you some extra speed.

Check at www.speedtest.net

The connection is not secured, but i am sure nobody is stealing it, and i am 95% sure about that,

And the modem / router is about 5 years old.

I always have a cross here, but after about 30 minutes it dissapears and then i have everythign green without crosses..



SO what is wrong now? The ISP? The router? Or just my computer?

cross there ment no connection between moded and internets

try flushing dns just in case

ipconfig /flushdns

For some reason its fixed now, didnt do anything, I bet it was the ISP.

sometimes an ISP's maintancence can take up to a week, this can cause slow connections and drop outs
