Why do you want to join (100 Words min):I started taking the VATSIM ATC course but then my computer blew up, and since fixing it I haven't bothered to take it back up what with college and what have you. I fly a lot on FS9 when I can, and am a wannabe pilot (if only it wasn't so bloody expensive). I'm an avid fan of Boston John and the other Logan controller who was suspended for letting his lad direct some traffic, and always a keen listener to LiveATC.net. I live on the Manchester 27 L&R flight path and can get the tower frequencies. In short; I enjoy all airport operations and would love to be part of such a fantastic group.

What does it mean to be an Air Traffic Controller (Your opinion): A controller is there to ensure safety of the skies, and that everyone who wants to fly, can without crashing. A controller should be organised and good under pressure and decent at multi tasking, and polite. At the end of the day it is the controller's job to help the pilot enjoy flying.

Name all the Airports in the United States of Argonath, San Andreas: Los Santos, Las Venturas, San Fierro, New Airport, then The Abandoned Airport in emergencies.

Dear Sirs,

I am writing to formally complain about the treatment I have received from the Argonath Air Traffic Control Service.

I applied to be a controller on the 27th March 2011, four weeks ago. During this time I have received no communication from yourselves or any other representative of the Service including no reply on the topic informing me to wait patiently or that I had been accepted or denied a place as a controller.

I am aware that you have been put under stress and pressure with Dan leaving, however, since my application you have continued to process applications between yourselves and so I therefore see little reason for my application not to have been processed with them.

As I have read and I respect your rules for posting in the topic and not bumping an application, I hope you will appreciate me doing this via more private means, and I only feel compelled to do this as I genuinely believe you have not read my application. With great respect to yourselves I can't help thinking this is down to a lack of communication and organisation as another application, that of 'uZwPaTeH..' also seemed to slip through the net. However because he broke the clearly defined rules by posting on the topic, you had to Deny his application, which I accept is not an unjustified decision and hence me sending a Private Message rather than posting in the topic, as I know then my application will indeed be void.

As I have not broken the topic rules, I trust you will be prompted by this to consider my application and make a decision forthwith.

Answering this publicly, as I have said before I like people to see what I believe.
I have said before that we do not accept/deny applications on the way other groups do. We do read all applications, and all applications are noted unless otherwise is said. We have taken your complaint into account, but upon investigation has been dismissed as we do not work in the fashion you have presumed.
Dan has not left, as his post above shows now.

Doggi, there are clear rules in place stating that those who bump applications will be denied, you are here to enforce these regulations.

He said that to:
1. Show activity of applicants
2. Make it easier for us to go through the applications, as they are closer together

As long as there is no confirmation from Jordan/Charlie, Ben and i will also continue the Director position.

I doubt Jordan will wish to demote us, considering we were the ones who made a new rank for him and Charlie  :redface:

Dear Sir

As you have published my last communication on this thread, I thought I would save you the trouble.

Thank you very much for your prompt reply. I continue to respect the work you do and the decisions you make, but I feel you may have missed the point of my last message.

I was not at all presuming that you work in the same ways that other groups do as I have read your rules of application several times. I was moreover implying that, four weeks, up to now, without a decision seems a little extreme. I assure you that if all applications took there or thereabouts four weeks then I would not have made a formal complaint, however, what made my case appear extraordinary was that, as I have already stated, between the 27th of March and today, you have continued to process other applications, but not mine. Therefore my point was not about how you run the application process, but instead evidence as to my application having slipped through the net.

I took into account the side effects of Dan's shortcoming, i.e. the distracting fuss about having to change the owner of the topic, and also the unsuccessful applications that were sent in around the same time as mine and therefore I strongly believe that my application had as I have said before, slipped through the net.

This does happen in the real world, and I have experienced it as recently as last year when applying to Colleges. However it is with little channels of communication, such as these letters, that are able to give closure to a growing wound of displeasure.

In hindsight, my 'complaint' fell short of substance by the fact that, as in  'uZwPaTeH..' s case, there was no easy way to make sure you had actually read my application. I had seen that if I were to post a simple message on the topic it would void my application, which I respect. I too would find it annoying if everyone continued to bump there application and bug me about accepting theirs. Because of this I also feared that if I were to send a short polite message to your PM boxes, that you would have also voided my application and said nothing more. So the only way to get a civil answer out of you was to send the long formal letter as above.

To conclude, I agree that my 'complaint' was not a very strong one and accept your decision to overturn it, but I still believe there may be some shreds of injustice amongst the extraneous bumf.

We will never deny or accept an application for no reason. You have not done anything to make you get denied, so we have not denied you. As we have not accepted you, there is nothing we need to say on your application 
Some people have had accepted applications because we have considered them more suitable for the task, and simply seen them active in the /pilot chat. This does not mean all people will get application responses. If our old topic was still around (it might be, but unsure) I could quote a few applications which are many months old to you  :roll:
