We're just trying to keep things evenly spread in the server - we don't want one side of Argonath having a lot more than the other, right?
I am talking from a completely individual point of view, rather than anything else (be it a group etc.). We don't want VC to become just a gang world, do we? Or is that what we are aiming for? It won't work if we don't have a variety of players.
And people seem to 'look towards' script support as that is something quite solid, rather than just words.
We also seem to have two very proficient scripters right now.

As for WS, yes we seem to be the only active clan remaining. Most of us were actually part of WS a fair bit before having anything to do with ARPD.
It's funny, as when there aren't many people doing cop stuff in the server, you hear things such as "ARPD is dead... they do nothing", so we try to get things going and then it turns into "WS is a cop clan, they don't know anything else".
At the moment, there may just not be enough people to carry out the various roles. It's either quality or quantity, I guess.

But anyway, it's not a competition - this was my thinking:

As for ARPD/VCPD - there is one big difference about TAC, IT, EAF, WS and AR-VCPD.
The ARPD is something official, not set up by one or two players last month, or anything on the same lines as clans and criminal groups. It makes up an official part of Argonath, and consists of a mixture of players - each of whom would have their own separate groups/individual roles that they also take part in.

I really don't see why there is so much discouragement towards it. Originally seemed to start off as a joke, but at the end of the day we are not against each other aside from the realms of roleplay. If we let ARPD die, we shall just lose an integral part of Argonath. There would be little going for the police role without criminals, and likewise, very little going towards the criminal role without cops.
If we really think about it, none of the little server features, the groups, clans or individual status really matter so much, as we are one community. It's not going to work without the players.

Clan and Gang HQs - I've had a handful of people ask me if they can get guns from the WS HQ when applying; it does seem to be a pull factor.
As criminal groups have direct script support, it would be cool if clans had their own specialised version, right?

At the end of the day, I am not too fussed which group is "the best" or has the most number of people, as long as things don't fall apart due to petty reasons.

I'm just gonna' say how it is. I can't seriously see the necessity of this. First of all, stop talking about clans like theres more than just one. There's only one group that seem to class themselves a 'clan' and that's of course WS. But WS isn't even a 'clan'. Like I said they're just a group of cops. Every 'active' member of WS is a member of ARPD. Legend, Bass, Leo, Marcus, Alex, Player, Verz - should I go on? Your not an 'all-round' roleplay group. Your a cop clan. If you want to be 'all-round', I'd suggest you try to recruit players who have a variety of different roleplay backgrounds. But that'll be difficult for WS wouldn't it? Seeing only cops seem to have any interest in it.

People in WS are not forced to play as a cop, so it's not a cop clan. If i wanted to go criminal while in WS, i would. The fact that WS is a ''cop clan'' is because seems people associated that to the clan's image, and criminals are joining the 2 powerful criminal groups in the server, leaving the idea ''oh, so WS is all cop, so i'll apply to WS and VCPD.''
It's impossible to recruit players with variety backgrounds at the moment because the server is bipolar. The city will eat you alive if you are a citizen, so, it leaves 2 choices for the player: Join the local police department, or take part of the criminal underground.

So that's why WS and ARPD come into this, it's pretty damn obvious to me. Anyway the HQ script was thought up by myself and aXXo for one clear reason, to benefit criminal groups. Now that criminal activity is on the up, you blame it on the fact that they have scripted support? We all know cops still have the most scripted support. So no it's not at all 'overpowered' or 'unfair'. If anything is unfair, it's that cops get everything free. But it's meant to be like that because the server isn't meant to be fair to everyone. Cops will always be overpowered for roleplay reasons. So all-in-all, this idea is practically worthless.

ARPD is not linked officially to WS, then i don't see the point of bringing such topics into the discussion.. Anyway, i see the reason the HQs were set and this is benefitial to the server, as long as it keeps activity up.
After reading the topic a bit, i couldn't see from where people demand the hability to store guns in clans' HQs. This discusssion is also worthless.

Please, stay on topic - If you wish to discuss about WS and ARPD, do it through PM or any ways to contact each other.

Debating with idiots it's like trying to play chess with a pigeon - it knocks the pieces over, craps on the board, and flies back to its flock to claim victory.

Spiral, it's more to give clans additional support actually in-game.
It's an all round server.

If we had a clan bank, you would not be able to access it without those that have the pass, and business transactions - how would they go in, unless someone put them there.
It's not so efficient.

Anyway, thanks to those that have shown support.

I don't see anything wrong with the support for mutual Clan Funds, it's not like these Clan HQs will be used as Arms Depots for civilians.

The most important part is interacting with others and meeting people from around the world.

While we're at it - Why can't people store weapons in their houses anymore? :S We used to be able to do that with the old scripts and i don't see why we can't be doing it now.. It feels like I'm limited because i'm not in a criminal group now.. Shouldn't government people be able to have guns in their houses? Hell, why not citizens.. In real life ( yes i know this is Argonath ) i keep some forbidden weaponry in my house too.

I hope it's not too bad to bring this up in this topic instead of making a new one

Due to server scripting limitations, I don't think it can be picked up how many weapons/what all ammunition a player is carrying - leading to inaccuracies.
We may see this in the newer server, though.

Can't store held weapons, but you can "store" weapons by buying them, which get saved to your house which you take by using /c getwep

If you keep forbridden weps in your house, how much of that stuff you keep there? I doubt more than 20 (guns w/t ammo/whatever)
If we get the same storing idea for houses like criminals do, gang HQs will lose their purpose and one freecop with one million of money could store more weapons than a gang roleplaying heavy crimes each day making this unbalanced as fuck.

Also what's with the 'WS does not pursue their members to roleplay as a cop class' thing? Last time I asked Robd why he had to leave WS to make a mafia family, he said 'WS forced me to roleplay as a cop class everytime' eheh.

Hmmm, i'm not pretty sure about this thing. Everybody in our clan is ARPD member but that doesn't mean you have to be 'cop', it's free clan.
