The reasons were very simple, and in principle have not changed.
By mentioning the name of another server you are advertising it. We have had a group of people that were banned for their own behaviour and as a result were hellbent on getting players that they liked away and on to the place they played.
In some way, this is still happening, the frequent mention of a single one of all the servers that have the same scripts and features seems pretty targetted to make people interested going to check it out.

It appears to happen 1 year ago when last player who did mention other server got banned for that reason, without intention to advertise of course. Me being butthurt for a long period where in samp section we would read only about the other server and no negative outcomes for those noble viscounts, do write a topic for clarification where for irony receive a message from a certain admin who measured the last ban ayy.

However by mentioning the other server as example (for good or for bad) raises many points that shouldn't be allowed in my opinion. One of them is the disrespect shown toward our community.

Agreed. I thought the zero tolerance policy was efficient. No grey areas.

As I've come with a lot of suggestions, I don't believe that I have much to learn. Prior to that I have played on LSRP for more than 3 years. I have done the same with Argonath so I got just as much experience over in Argonath as I got in LSRP. The point is that even though we come with suggestions of how to improve Argonath in RP and make the server better is not to copy LSRP. It is to improve Argonath and much of what has been suggested and said "Found in LSRP" is just pure bullshit as I am 100% sure that most players of Argonath wont even pass the entry application to join LSRP.

I do not believe we cannot copy or at least draw from inspiration at this point. The center of innovation is taking something that already exists and making it better. While other server's have 'borrowed' and improved off us; we aren't against doing the same. Look at the mining script I wrote, I took the original idea off  another server (and that server's host actually has credit for it in our credits because I'm a nice guy) and improved on it.

That is fine. What isn't fine is people who see Argonath's need to improve as becoming what it isn't suppose to be. I just want to make it absolutely clear we're not that and we never will be. Improve; fine. Change to SRSRP; fuck off.

This is actually such a petty archaic rule of the past that makes no sense and is just irritating. It was especially fucked up when people couldn't mention other servers in PM/private chats, it's retarded.

Always been a fan of LSRP and their build-up of their community, but you do not let that whole "make Argonath to LSRP"-mindset go, you will never move forward in making progress. There are two totally different environments, so is the players and the whole community in general. Argonath is so unique and the atmosphere here is something that people stick to, even when the roleplay was lacking the most, people kept going with ideas and remained loyal to the community.

Yes, LSRP is one great community when it comes to roleplay, as well as keeping itself updated with changes and being 'out-of-the-box', but if you only want to change Argo because you somehow can't get yourself in good contacts in LSRP, it's only you who does it wrong and not anyone else. Develop Argonath the right way. Do not change it to something that already exist.

And yes, if you still complain about Argonath not being as LSRP - then go there and make another try to get your character rolling. That mindset destroys more than it do any good.
